Hey, I’m Sue McLachlan

Founder of The Unicorn Assistant, lover of 5am starts (yep really!), loud live music and exploring the world.

I started The Unicorn Assistant because of my passion for helping small businesses grow and succeed.

Since 2015, I have been working as a freelance voiceover artist - which is a perfect job for someone who loves to talk!

Much of my voiceover work has been for small businesses and start ups and I found myself giving small business advice to many of my clients. Most of them were doing everything all on their own and often struggling with how to get it all done. It is a very common problem! Some clients I ended up working with as a business coach which I really loved.

But it turned out I was working in a far more hands on manner than a typical business coach would. I wasn’t just giving the strategy and advice on what to do, with a once a week or once a month call. I was doing the actual work as well - which was a win for the client and a win for me, as it’s the work I love most.

Fast forward to January 2019 and The Unicorn Assistant was (officially) born and no longer just a word of mouth service.

It is a collective offering of my many skills and vast experience gained over 15 years of running businesses.in eCommerce, retail, aromatherapy (clinic and products), freelance services and a baby/kids brand that I grew from a hobby business to a $3 million/yr multinational company.

All that makes me the perfect business owners right hand gal - the person that can rely on to do all the things you need and who understands what it is like to be you and actually makes your life easier.

A unicorn if you will - officially, my role will be your Online Business Manager.
